UPDATED: NEW YORK – Gang of Four cancelled the final show of their tour five minutes before they were supposed to play in New York on Monday night.
In a statement, the band said the cancellation came as a result of Andy Gill’s hospitalization for a chest infection. The group had expected Gill to be released in time to still play the 9:30 show, which turned out not to be the case.
The last-minute cancellation disappointed many who were gathered at the Music Hall of Williamsburg to hear the band, whose sole original member is Andy Gill.

Gang of Four had moved the Monday night show from Rough Trade to the Music Hall. Their opener, Public Practice came on with a solid set, but the headliner never came on.
Some on Instagram asked for their money back. Others were plain ol’ disappointed. As for info on refunds, details to follow.
