Bob Dylan and his words have resonated around the world for decades and he has updated his 1969 classic, “Lay, Lady, Lay,” for the modern world.
Dylan has stayed contemporary through the ups and downs of a fickle industry. And this time, Dylan’s words get special treatment: His own handwritten words.
The latest video, for “Lay, Lady, Lay” has an added a personal touch as he pens out the words across the screen for the duration of the video.
“Lay, Lady, Lay” is a beloved classic that was released in 1969 on his Nashville Skyline album.

Bob Dylan Receives Honors for his Words
In 2008, the Pulitzer Prize Board awarded Dylan a special citation for his impact on music and culture, “marked by lyrical compositions of extraordinary poetic power.”
Dylan was awarded the Nobel Prize in Literature in 2016 for creating new “poetic expressions within the great American song tradition.”
So it is not surprising that Dylan’s words are written out in his actual handwriting, something that is, like Dylan’s genre of music, a part of history.
