Blink-182 Goes On Tour with Lil Wayne

Travis Barker of Blink-182 has teamed up with Splice, the music production platform to release a wide-ranging collection of drum samples. The pack contains more than 300 samples of Barker’s trademark work.
Barker released a video with Splice in which he talks about his cross-genre career that led him from rock to trap and beyond, ultimately creating the beginning of “trap metal” drum riffs.
In the video, Barker explains how P. Diddy first asked him to be in the “Bad Boys For Life” video, and from there, Bun B and Pimp C from UGK came knocking on his door. The world-renowned musician ended up falling in love with creating beats and, since then, has collaborated with the likes of T.I., Lil Wayne, Soulja Boy, Halsey, and more.

Barker said it’s important to keep things new and fresh to stay motivated.
“At the end of the day, whatever you’re doing, if you’re producing, playing drums, guitar, rapping … the goal is to develop your own style,” Barker said. “A lot of the songs that I’ve played on or recorded on … I could have easily done whatever it is for that tempo. I think what made me different is pushing those boundaries and trying to make things different.”
To give aspiring music creators the chance to push the boundaries on their sounds, Barker released the sample pack with Splice Sounds with a selection of 300 samples. The drum kit features everything from tight acoustic grooves to hard-hitting electronic beats.
