Band Premieres Second Song and Enjoys Life

EasyFriend has released a new song, “Alone In Here,” and the tune has special meaning to the band members.
“It’s kind of about the feeling you have when you’re not doing the right thing,” said Eric Brown vocalist. “No matter how many friends you may have, underneath you know you’re alone if you’re not doing what you’re supposed to be doing.”
EasyFriend: ‘Alone In Here’ Tells the Truth
“Eric quit his job as a waiter five years ago and decided to pursue music full time,” said bassist Matt Faulkner. “That’s what ‘Alone In Here’ means, it’s about when your day job is killing your creative energies and you make the decision to believe in yourself and leave the comfort behind.”
The alternative-genre song is one of several singles to be released by EasyFriend, who expect to have a full album coming out later this year. EasyFriend has a high-energy, driving, single, “Create Yourself,” already out.
“Alone In Here” has a catchy chorus and an upbeat sound, blending the psychedelic with an optimistically insightful outlook on life. The vocals quiveringly plead for understanding and growth as the song builds.
From Desire to Make Music, Business Emerged
But the desire to go where their hearts belong led to a successful business. Eric bought a vintage RV for $50 and toured around the country, doing his music full time. Of course he had company: His dog Norman, a pit bull mix came along. Out of that ambition came a great business. Brown and Faulkner began restoring vintage motorhomes like the ones they live in.
Faulkner said: “I met Eric through mutual friend and I was producing his record. He told me he lives in an RV full time and doesn’t pay rent, and works on developing his music full time. Every artist should be doing that – having no attachments and the freedom to create every day.

“I teamed up with him and so the business began, it started as an idea to renovate RVs and rent them to bands so they could eliminate lodging expenses. We rented six RVs for Burning Man, half of them broke down and we spent six months digging ourselves out of massive debt.”

Getting The Product Out There
“That was the last time we took on any rentals for long distance travel,” Brown said. “It was just way too much liability. It was a rocky start, but we soon found that restoring and selling was much more lucrative without any of the risk.”
Since then they’ve sold RVs to companies and to production houses including Nike and Adult Swim. And they’ve helped a number of struggling artists transition into full-time RV living. If they rent now, it’s exclusively for production. “We’ve done photo shoots with Allure magazine featuring Amber Heard, we’ve had our rigs in music videos with Yungblud and Russo,” Brown said.

“Our ultimate goal was to create a fun side hustle,” Faulkner said. “We’ve set ourselves to a strict schedule. We only work on RVs on the weekends, and Monday through Friday is dedicated to writing and recording in our studio called BetaWave. We love what we do and the balance we’ve found, so we don’t really need to take days off.
“We have a full-length EasyFriend record ready to release, as well as an EP with another project called Lone Priestess,” Faulkner said. “We produced a full-length for Nicole Kiki Jaffe that’s about to blow people’s minds. We’re bringing it with new music this year.”
