SAN PEDRO – Punk favorites X the band, helped the Brouwerij West in San Pedro celebrate its second anniversary Saturday night.
The punkers got an assist from San Pedro royalty Mike Watt and the Missingmen. The Brouwerij West is a great hang where people can try craft beer and enjoy some good grub.
Brouwerij West: Helping the Cause
What’s best about the place is Brouwerij West management like to help out a cause; this time the cause was about having a great time. Food trucks were on hand and the caterer, La Huesuda Tacos is one of the premiere Mexican food caterers around. Everything is hand-made from secret recipes passed down.

X the Band Still Hot on a Cold Night
X the Band, complete with John Doe, Exene Cervenka, Billy Zoom and drummer D.J. Bonebrake took the outdoor stage. Despite the cold by Southern California standards temperature, the veteran punkers held some 2500+ fans transfixed for an hour-long set.
“I met my husband at an X concert 37 years ago,” said Julia with her husband Norm. “And like X, we’re still together too and still going strong.”
Mike Watt and The Missingmen
Mike Watt and the Missingmen, Tom and Raul, played a killer set of his favorite Missingmen fare. The band brings some serious chops to the stage as it seems the guys are always striving to make the music better, even though in our book it’s pretty great already.
Opening bands were Bombon and L.A. Witch. Check out more photos:
