It wouldn’t be the holiday season without Rodney Bingenheimer and a cool Christmas party.

The Glitter Critters made their live debut last night at Rodney Bingenheimer’s shindig at La Luz de Jesus Gallery in in Los Feliz. The night was a ripping record release party for Rodney’s compilation album, Santa’s Got a GTO Vol. 2.

Clem Burke of Blondie, Christa and Rik Collins of The Woolly Bandits and Kevin Preston of Prima Donna formed a punk rock supergroup, Glitter Critters, and headlined the night. They have a track on Rodney’s new album.

Christa and Rick are in the Woolly Bandits, an up-and-comer featuring Christa out front. Prima Donna let Kevin go for the night and Clem couldn’t resist playing — of course — his favorite Christmas song.

Performers at the party included Peter 118, Kat Meoz, Color TV and The Mansfields. Tom Mansfield is the artist on the albums. As for Rodney … well he’s Rodney and no need for further explanations.

The gang celebrated Rodney and presented him with special art pieces based on Mansfield’s work on the retro record covers. Sponsored by La Luz de Jesus and Wacko Soap Plant and Gearhead, it was a night that was full of rock and roll holiday spirit.
