It was a great homecoming for Screech of Death and a heartfelt show with The Guillotines who made the trip from Houston to play some Southern California gigs.
Friends from across SoCal came to check in with Lisafer whose Screech of Death band opened for Bill DeGidio’s The Guillotines. Lisafer also filled in at bass in The Guillotines in honor of friend and Guillotines’ bassist Jewels DeGidio who passed away from cancer.
Screech of Death has a history in the LA punk rock books making a mark as one of the few women-powered bands. These days, Screech of Death is Lisafer, DeGidio and Arthur Hays, the original drummer from the Hickoids.
Screech of Death came, saw and conquered at The Redwood – Donna Balancia
DeGidio’s guitar work has not been sharper and The Guillotines put on a hot set at The Redwood. Drummer Andy Kaos keeps things lively as Lisafer powers on bass. The Guillotines and Screech of Death are on tour, with the “tech to the stars,” Ames Flames riding shotgun. Flames performed the Sylvain Sylvain song “Goodbye New York.”
Kudos to opener Sick Sick Sick, who are high school kids with a good future ahead, and the Pretty Uglys, whose veteran rock power gained new fans.
