Kim Shattuck passed away today after a two-year battle with ALS, according to a post by her husband who wrote heart-wrenching words on social media. She was 56 years old.
Her bandmate, Melanie Vammen, from The Pandoras posted on Instagram.
Shattuck’s voice and demeanor onstage was impressive and a reunion show she performed with The Pandoras was rated as one of the best of the year in CaliforniaRocker.com

Shattuck, who was a well-known go-to musician in LA, came to fame with The Muffs and had a great version of “Kids In America,” originally recorded by Kim Wilde. The Muffs were on the verge of a record release, for a new album, called No Holiday, out on Omnivore on Oct. 18. No Holiday is the band’s first album in five years.
