The Story of Plastic, which features a musical score by Pearl Jam guitarist Mike McCready, will receive its world premiere at the Mill Valley Film Festival on Sunday, October 6.

The documentary film exposé is presented by The Story of Stuff in association with React Films a Pale Blue Dot Media production. The film is edited by Tony Hale and Brian Wilson with cinematography by Deia Schlosberg and Melissa Lesh and  Schlosberg directs.

McCready is coming off recent performances of his Infinite Color and Sound collaboration with artist Kate Neckel in New York and at See. Hear. Now. fest in Asbury Park, N.J.

McCready’s latest documentary work takes a dramatic turn as The Story of Plastic is billed as “The story Big Plastic does not want you to see.” The trailer shows consequences suffered by the planet and the people because of the intrusive and poisonous material.

McCready has previous experience in the film biz, including creating music for the feature film Sadie, which bowed at SXSW in 2018, and for the documentary The Gift: The Journey of Johnny Cash, which screened at SXSW last March.
