The Eagles of Death Metal descended on a local LA bar, surprising the regular Monday night clientele and serving as a warmup for their opening slot on tour with Queens of the Stone Age.
Hughes and friends joined the band Fire The Animal during their Monday Night Residency at Tenants Of The Trees.
Hughes first joined Fire The Animal on the tiny stage at Tenants of the Trees for one song before taking a break, talking with locals and the new D.J.s and then hopping on stage with his band.

Then joined by his bandmates, Eden Galindo, Jennie Vee and Jorma Vik, Hughes performed some EODM favorites including “Silverlake,” “Save a Prayer” and Bowie cover “Moonage Daydream.” The encore was “I Only Want You,” which brought down the tiny house. The standing room only crowd surrounded the tiny stage and the Fire The Animal locals sure got their money’s worth on this particular Monday.

“I can’t believe this,” said Ron, a regular who was with his girlfriend. “I wasn’t expecting the Eagles of Death Metal, it’s great.”
Fire The Animal is good rock and roll, similar in style to Lynyrd Skynyrd only less country, blending rock with good guitar riffs and dynamic songs. It’s a good blend for Hughes, who came on the stage for the band’s rendition of “I Love You All the Time.”
