New Music Roundup: Death Valley Girls + Iggy? DCFC, GØGGs, Yoko’s Hell

By DONNA BALANCIA

Bonnie Bloomgarden and Larry Schemel from Death Valley Girls had a special rendezvous with one Iggy Pop in Miami.

The DVG duo said they had a “Real Cool Time,” leading us to believe they may be lending a hand on that very song, made famous by The Stooges back in 1969.  The Godfather of Punk even dressed up in a suit and tie for the LA kids.

For anyone who listens to Iggy’s BBC 6 Iggy Confidential Radio Show, the meeting shouldn’t be a surprise. Iggy spins a lot of Death Valley Girls on his Friday disc jockey gig. We’ll find out the details in two weeks, Bloomgarden told CaliforniaRocker.com on Wednesday.

Also to be noted: Schemel is a well-regarded music director and there may be a TV or film aspect involved in this very punk collaboration. Listen to Death Valley Girls on Bandcamp.
