Where is Johnny Rotten? On tour with new music and a documentary.
Known in real life as John Lydon, the (arguably) most famous punk is bringing Public Image Ltd. to the El Rey In Los Angeles on Nov. 3.
Lydon and PIL will play the El Rey as part of a multi-city 40th anniversary tour. The North American journey launches Oct. 9 in New Orleans and hits San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, Dallas, Chicago and Brooklyn. The tour winds up Nov. 3 in Mexico City.
PIL’s Tribeca Film Fest documentary entry “The Public Image is Rotten,” bows in September at Metrograph in NYC. Music-wise, there’s the 5CD/2DVD boxed set.
