Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, will bring their famous disco jam to The Wiltern tomorrow night in an all-ages dance show.
‘We Are Family’
Chic, co-founded by Rodgers and Bernard Edwards, is expected to perform hits like “Dance Dance Dance,” “Good Times,” “We Are Family,” “Le Freak,”and many others.
Prolific Producer
Rodgers is a prolific producer who has worked with everyone from Lady Gaga and David Bowie to Madonna and many more. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame last April.
Rodgers has has been a shining star in his battle against cancer. He has a blog where he discusses his journey called Planet C.
Le Freak
One of the biggest disco hits of all time, “Le Freak,” by Chic was written after New Year’s Eve in 1977 when Rodgers and Edwards weren’t admitted into Studio 54 to visit with Grace Jones. According to legend, the original words – “Fuck Off!” – were aimed at the doormen and the rude staff.
