According to a source close to The Rolling Stones, the band will do a prep show prior to hitting the road. Tickets may not be available to the general public, but instead, to friends of the band, crew and various artists. Ticketing has not been confirmed.
“The Fonda Theatre is a smaller, intimate venue and it’s the perfect place for the band and crew to take a dry-run,” said the source.
On Friday, it was announced that Shakey Graves, who had been slated to play the Fonda Theatre on May 20, would be moved to the Belasco Theater and that all tickets for his performance at the Fonda would be honored at the downtown venue.
The Rolling Stones fan club forum, It’s Only Rock ‘n Roll, cited the news on May 14.
On Monday, the band hosted a Twitter session, taking answers from the fans via the social media platform. There was no special announcement related to the tour or the added date at The Fonda.
This is a developing story, details to follow.
