LOS ANGELES – The Strumbellas arrived in Los Angeles’ Regent Theater as part of their 24-stop tour across the United States. The tour called Into Dust is in support of their “Burning Bridges Into Dust” EP. The band comes from Toronto, Canada and that got keyboardist David Ritter to joke with the crowd about how cold March has been in Toronto and that while in Los Angeles he was wearing shorts. Los Angeles has dealt with a very hot March, 2026, so far.

The six member band, who gained immense popularity with the track “Spirits,” wasted no time launching into their new material. “Hanging Out In My Head” highlighted their folk-indie rock sound that focused on the group’s melodic vocals. The crowd was swept away by the band’s vocals with many singing from the start. This is a band that started in 2008 and yet the most ardent fans appeared to be those who were born after that year. “Tweens” packed the front of the stage, singing along with the band.

Some of the other highlights from their 20 song set included “Sailing” from their 2013 album “We Still Move on Dance Floors.” It was a musical battle between violin and guitar. “Shovels & Dirt” from their 2016 album “Hope” had the two guitarists taking a seat, facing each other. Blue light reflected against the circular monolith that was at the back of the stage. It turned the Regent Theater into an imagined large backyard family gathering with two family members performing next to a pool.

They decided to do a new twist on their single release “Greatest Enemy.” They admitted that fans didn’t appear to appreciate the new interpretation of the song, but they liked it and in this particular situation that was what mattered.

“Steal My Soul” from their 2024 album “Part Time Believer “had the crowd singing along. The band taught the chorus to “Come Back Around” from their latest EP to the crowd who without hesitation sang it throughout. For “Running Out of Time” from “Part Time Believer,” keyboardists David Ritter and lead singer Jimmy Chauveau were left alone on stage. The two wondered what the rest of the band was doing backstage.

All this positive response from the crowd got the band to say as the set came to an end, “LA, you’ve been the loudest crowd we’ve had yet!”

Opener Hotel Fiction was embraced by the enthusiastic crowd. Read the review and check out images here.
