Bob Mould has been living in Berlin and has released a new video “letter” about his experience called “Berlin.” His album Sunshine Rock will be released on Feb. 8 on Merge Records.
Mould says he’s “just scratching at the surface” in his learning about the historic German city even though he’s been there three years already. He says he played the most memorable solo acoustic show of his life there back in the day and in 2015 he decided to relocate to Berlin.
Punk rock musicians have made Berlin a music mecca over the years and it’s where many legends before the Hüsker Dü founder have also retreated to write and create.

‘Berlin’ the Video by Bergmann and Virus
The “Berlin” video was created by filmmaker/editor Mario Bergmann and the well-regarded director and visual artist Philipp Virus of Virus Films.
The video depicts Mould in a more intimate light as he brings the cameras with him to show off his city and give insight into his creative process.
