My Morning Jacket share “Half A Lifetime,” the third song from their new album, “is,” which will be released this Friday. The corresponding tour for the Brendan O’Brien-produced album, “is,” kicks off April 1 in Chatanooga, Tenn.

The new track finds My Morning Jacket reimagining a demo unearthed from sessions for their landmark 2005 album, “Z,” transforming what was originally conceived as a stripped-back slow-burner into a larger-than-life anthem lit up in wildly frenzied guitar riffs.

About the new track, My Morning Jacket’s Jim James said: “It’s about doing whatever it takes to get where you need to go, instead of bailing when things get hard, which is funny, considering that it literally took a half a lifetime to finish.”

My Morning Jacket will honor their hometown with “Come Home Again,” a series of events that celebrate Louisville, Ky., this spring. For more info check out the band’s website.
