US Rocker – Dave Mason has released his memoir, “Only You Know & I Know.” In the book, Mason covers his remarkable life as a Rock & Roll Hall of Famer and one of the great singer-songwriters of his era.
Out today, the revealing and anticipated work written with Chris Epting marks the first time a member of Traffic has penned a memoir, offering fans a rare glimpse into the extraordinary life and career of one of music’s unsung legends. Mason is a founding member of Traffic.
“Penning a memoir was an interesting project, to say the least,” Mason said. “I’m not one to look back so much, I’m more of a forward-looking person. Yet now that it’s written and documented I must say I’m left with, mostly, immense gratitude, though there’s been many challenges that at the time felt insurmountable.”
Traffic released its first album, Mr. Fantasy, in 1967 and continued through the years with and without Mason. He wrote the Bonnie and Delaney classic “Only You Know And I Know” and “Feelin’ Alright,” which was recorded by Traffic and became a major hit for Joe Cocker.
“Clearly, music has been, and continues to be my North Star,” Mason said. “I hope you’ll find ‘Only You Know & I Know’ not just entertaining – but a read that offers connection. This memoir is a testament to the power of Rock ‘N’ Roll and the enduring impact it has had on my career and personal life.” Order here.
