This summer, British rock band Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel shares the stage with fellow veteran UK rockers The Alarm and Modern English on an extensive North American tour.
Jay Aston’s well-loved band from the 1980s recently released new music with Dance Underwater, their first studio album of new material in 14 years.

Gene Loves Jezebel Bands on Different Paths
Gene Loves Jezebel is comprised of Jay Aston on vocals, James Stevenson on guitar, Pete Rizzo on bass and Chris Bell on drums with Peter Walsh producing.
There are actually two Gene Loves Jezebel bands and each are led by a different twin brother. There’s Jay and Michael. There are no regions where either band is limited to tour, just how they’re known in what country, said a media rep. The brothers started the band together back in the UK in the 1980s.
In the U.S. Jay’s lineup is known as Jay Aston’s Gene Loves Jezebel but in the UK it’s just Gene Loves Jezebel, and vice versa, the rep said. Jay’s lineup has been playing together more than 20 years.
