Check out the Julian Frampton band, a new group led by a second-generation musician, who has a different look and different style than his famous father, Peter Frampton.

Peter Frampton had one of the highest-selling live albums of all time with mega-hit Frampton Comes Alive!, but Julian is no music brat. He has an easy going attitude and has hustled his way up the ranks to recording. He started out as a busker on the Venice Beach Boardwalk.
Progressive Music With Cool Sounds
Julian’s music is progressive and a bit avant-garde with futuristic elements and cool sounds. His father’s sound is traditional rock. Julian co-wrote the song “Road To The Sun,” with his father off Peter’s 14th studio album, Thank You, Mr. Churchill.
Father and son look is very different, except for the trademark long hair, which in the late 1970s was Peter’s crowning glory. Julian’s mother is Barbara Gold, to whom Peter was married from 1983-1993.
Chance Meetings Lead to Bandmates
“I met my keyboardist Ben at my coffee shop and I met my percussionist Guy, while playing on the Venice Boardwalk,” Julian said. He and his band put on a three-person set to open the first Live at Sunset Summer Nights series at the Sunset Marquis Hotel.

The band is comprised of Ben Sheridan, Ricky Bakken, Guy Azoulay and Mike Lis.
Live at Sunset is a free Friday night music series held at the historic rock-themed hotel, whose halls have been graced by everyone from Patti Smith to the legendary Jim Morrison and more. Morrison Hotel Gallery runs a photo exhibit in conjunction with the weekly summer event.
