Sinéad O’Connor took the stage at the El Rey Theatre in Los Angeles Sunday night to the delight of fans, performing her hits with a strong voice and stage presence.
O’Connor, wearing a head scarf, and long dress with long sleeves, brought the crowds to their collective knees in her first U.S. tour since 2013.
At the El Rey, there was no opener and her set lasted one and a half hours.

O’Connor appeared genuinely happy to be back in front of the audience after a few years of mental health and personal problems, including a threat of suicide that was posted to her social media pages.
O’Connor converted to Islam in 2018 and has changed her name to Shuhada Davitt. Her range of selections included songs from I Do Not Want What I Haven’t Got and she delivered a heart-rending version of “Nothing Compares 2 U.”
