By JOHN DALY

The Sloths have released a new video for their song “Haunted,” which appears on the soundtrack of the movie The Amityville Murders. The film gets a Feb. 8 release from Skyline Entertainment.

Sloths frontman Tom McLoughlin has a history in horror, having directed more than 40 film and televison projects including Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) and One Dark Night (1982).

In the new horror flick directed by Daniel Farrands, a family retraces the events of Nov. 13, 1974, the night Ronald DeFeo Jr. murdered his family with a rifle. The real-life story that occurred in Amityville, NY, was the basis for The Amityville Horror.

The film’s soundtrack also features an additional Sloths track called “Lust,” written by McLoughlin and Michael Rummans.

The Sloths play on March 19 at SXSW and will perform an afternoon set at the annual Burger Records showcase at Hotel Vegas and an evening showcase at Spider House Café & Ballroom.
