By DONNA BALANCIA – The band members who comprise HUDSON, not only have a big sound, they also have a big heart.

The band supports Children’s Hospital and this holiday season, held a toy drive at the Gibson showroom in Beverly Hills.  A successful event, the benefit concert, that featured Hudson and Ted Z and The Wranglers, raised more than $1000 and more than 50 toys.

“We’ve been involved with Children’s Hospital of LA the past few years, but this was our first toy drive,”  said Chris Llewellyn, lead guitarist and producer of HUDSON.  “We’ve gone over to the hospital before to perform for the kids and talk to them about music. We’re doing it again next month in January.”

HUDSON is comprised of lead guitarist Llewellyn, drummer Christian Thierbach IV, bass and keyboardist Brian Cohen and lead singer David Hudson.  In the few years they’ve been together, they have proven to be a tight group of talented musicians.

But it’s not all about them.  Far from it.

“Our band is all about helping humanity,” Llewellyn said.  “It’s a big part of our message and we wanted to inspire others to give back to a worthy cause this holiday season.”

The event last week was sponsored by Sailor Jerry Rum, Bear and Loft Vodka, and The District by Hannah An in Beverly Hills.

Undercard Ted Z and the Wranglers made for a great opener.  The Orange County rockers played original songs with a message and the guys are interesting in their own right.

“Ted Z and the Wranglers were excited about the idea of putting on a show to collect money and toys for Childrens Hospital of LA, and they liked the idea so much, we had them come out and rock with us.”

“We truly believe in the power of music, so we enjoy playing for the kids and inspiring them to be more involved in music and arts,” Llewellyn said.  “Music therapy is a real thing and we believe in its healing potential.

“The music we make comes from our hearts, and from our souls,” said lead singer Hudson. “We want to create music that becomes a part of your life — songs that are with you in the best of times, your darkest hour, and every moment in between.”
