Fender Musical Instruments fired the first shot of the 2018 NAMM Show with a big announcement about its new lines of ‘American,’ ‘California’ guitars and line of pedals.
Fender is launching The American Original Series electric guitars and the California Acoustic Series and the Fender Effects Pedals. There’s also a Tim Armstrong line of acoustics that reflect the Rancid frontman’s eclectic punk taste.
The American Original Series replaces the American Vintage Series first introduced in 1982 and marries that classic Fender vibe players have always loved about ’50s, ’60s and ’70s Fender electric guitars and basses with best-in-class performance. Also debuting today is the Parallel Universe Series, which includes models with unusual shapes and bodies (including The Meteora) that are unique to the Fender brand. Additionally, new colors have been added to the American Special Series.
The California Series Acoustics line, which features body shapes named after famed California beaches Newport, Redondo and Malibu, introduces pops of color to the Fender acoustic guitar offering with quality sound and an energetic vibe. Along with the California Series, Fender acoustics is also introducing the Paramount Limited Series. With only 500 of each model, the Paramount Limited Series brings the best of Fender to the Paramount and Auditorium models.
The Fender Effect Pedals are six new, innovative effect pedals that exemplify Fender’s long-term commitment to the category and sonic innovation. Developed by in-house pedals expert Stan Cotey and priced from $99.99 to $199.99, the new offerings provide a diverse set of effects – reverb, delay, overdrive, distortion, compression and buffering.
