Uniform Release Video for ‘Permanent Embrace’
With every movement of American Standard, Uniform peels off a new layer and tells the story inside of the one that came before it. Uniform says its latest work, the video for the track “Permanent Embrace,” is the most intimate work to date, tackling themes of self-destruction with a particular focus on vocalist Michael Berdan’s lifelong struggle with bulimia nervosa.
His lyrics sink down into the core of the innermost self, the small human being crushed in the grip of sickness. His bandmates join him, applying the droning that becomes both mechanical and omniscient. As the rhythms continually pulverize, Uniform gives themselves over to the grinding gears of an uncaring universe.

Ronnie James Dio Debuts in ‘Rainbow: Live In Munich 1977’
On September 19, Mercury Studios will release Rainbow: Live In Munich 1977 as a Special Edition 2CD+DVD package. This show has been previously released as individual DVD and 2CD packages in the past, and this is the first time they have been packaged together.
Captured during the band’s 1977 European tour, Live In Munich is the only full live concert ever filmed with the classic Ritchie Blackmore/Ronnie James Dio/Cozy Powell classic lineup.
Rainbow was guitarist Ritchie Blackmore’s creation, assembled in 1975 after his departure from Deep Purple. The band had a string of hit albums until 1983, when Blackmore disbanded the group and re- joined Deep Purple.
Featuring the lineup of Blackmore, Cozy Powell (drums), Bob Daisley (bass), David Stone (keyboards), and premiere Rock N Roll vocalist Ronnie James Dio, the excitement in the air during this night in Munich was electric. This might be due to Blackmore’s late arrival to Munich just before the concert, after being smuggled out of Austria after trouble with the police at a gig two nights earlier. This seemed to inspire both the band and the audience to create a truly remarkable gig with Rainbow Live In Munich 1977. Pre-order here.
