Duff McKagan made a surprise appearance at Wayne Kramer’s MC50 Kick Out The Jams Anniversary gig at the Ford Theatres Friday night.

Seems McKagan is a fan of Kramer, the founder of MC5, the legendary punk band from the late 1960s. The revived band Kramer has assembled is called MC50 in honor of the 50th anniversary of the classic MC5 album Kick Out The Jams.

The MC50 show moves on to The Observatory tonight, then Portland, Seattle and Vancouver.  There will be additional dates in Salt Lake City, Englewood, Colo., Minneapolis, Chicago, Cincinnati and Detroit before the band moves on to Europe.

From the looks of things, McKagan was impressed by Kramer’s fancy guitar work.
