LAS VEGAS – Bring Me The Horizon, the beloved rock band from Sheffield, England, finally made it back to the US after almost a year since their last tour of the States.
The British quintet played at Sick New World Festival in Las Vegas on April 27th and added two side shows at the Fontainebleau Theater. The opening act both nights was the Canadian heavy metal band SpiritBox.
The first and only time I saw Bring Me The Horizon live was almost at the beginning of their career, in a small club in Milan, Italy in 2008, and I feel grateful that I was able to attend one of their three performances in Las Vegas after so many years and witnessing how much they grew in their career and talent.
I already knew that BMTH shows were great but I was not quite prepared for the enormity of their performance. Much like all their brilliant arena shows, these side gigs in Las Vegas came with a full outstanding production.
The performance starts with a very slow introduction, as a futuristic avatar robot called Eve speaks to the crowd via the large screens, urging the crowd to engage in mosh pits, ingest substances and have the best night of their lives.
The suspense was making the crowd more and more excited and amidst an explosion of confetti, we were finally introduced to Bring Me The Horizon.
Their gothic cathedral backdrop gave a dark ecclesiastical vibe and the stained glass windows made the stage seem majestic. There were also very cool video projections played during the songs, fire and pyro galore.
They masterfully blended the gothic and the futuristic, creating a visually stunning stage with a mix of intricate architecture and mesmerizing imagery.
It’s hard to name just one single favorite moment of their incredible show but definitely the red heart shaped confetti explosion during the song “Can You Feel My Heart” is one of those.
One lucky girl was picked from the crowd by frontman Oli Sykes to sing on stage with him and she actually killed it. I am sure that must have been the best night of her life.
Flipping through some of the Band’s biggest hits, BMTH delivered performances that were identical to their recorded counterparts.
As they played through their 19 songs set list, the crowd was treated to a rollercoaster of emotions.
There were tears and passionate sing-alongs but also frenetic dancing, spontaneous mosh pits and many crowd surfers. What a night!
Right before the encore, they pay a tribute to their fans, friends and family by playing out a montage of their career, with video footage from the archives through to the present day.
BMTH show was nothing short of spectacular. There is no doubt that they created a night that will be etched into the memories of all those in attendance.
I really hope they have the time to surprise their US fans by adding some new dates in the United States on their NEX_GEN WORLD TOUR 2024.
The Band is currently working on the final touches of their new album, POST HUMAN: NeX GEn and they recently announced it will be coming out in Summer 2024.
