Wilco will release their first album in more than three years on Oct. 4 with Ode to Joy, and will go on tour to support the album. Today they’ve released a track called “Love is Everywhere.”

Released via dBpm Records, it’s the first record for the band since Schmilco.

The record’s lead single is the dreamy guitar track “Love is Everywhere (Beware).” Ode to Joy focuses on finding joy in a dark political climate, Jeff Tweedy said in a release.

“There MUST be more love than hate,” Jeff Tweedy said. “I’m not always positive we can be so sure. In any case, I’m starting to feel like being confident in that equation isn’t always the best motivation for me to be my best self – it can kind of let me off the hook a little bit when I think I should be striving to contribute more love outside of my comfortable sphere of family and friends. So… I guess the song is sort of a warning to myself that YES, Love IS EVERYWHERE, but also BEWARE! I can’t let that feeling absolve me of my duty to create more.”

Tweedy has had two solo albums, WARM and WARMER, and memoir, “Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back).” For the new Wilco record Tweedy brought the band to The Loft in Chicago where the songs materialized.

Ode to Joy is available for pre-order. The album will be available in compact disc, standard black vinyl, limited edition color custom vinyl, and a special deluxe LP book, designed by long-time Wilco collaborator Lawrence Azerrad.

Wilco will tour Europe and North America surrounding the album’s release. All shows are listed below and tickets are available for purchase here.
