LOS ANGELES – If you are a fan of the original Alice Cooper group, the new album, “The Revenge of Alice Cooper” is a must-have.

I was a huge fan back in the day. Over the years getting Alice Cooper solo albums I always hoped that they would give me the buzz that “The Revenge of Alice Cooper” gives me. To me, the original Alice Cooper group was a real band.

Alice Cooper solo albums were productions with an ever-changing backing band that were usually good but never had that band chemistry, except for maybe his first three. In some cases, the musicians on the record were not the ones doing the live shows.

Some of those albums I liked somewhat but it was never like an original Alice Cooper group album. I had high hopes for this new album and I am not disappointed. Not only can I tell it’s the original band, but it’s also made possible with Bob Ezrin producing like he did with them in the old days.

Listen to the album from cover to cover. Every song is great. There are echoes of their past songs in the mix that real fans will know. It was released at the end of July and it’s already charting around the world.

I’m not going to review each song, that is for listeners to assess. So do yourself a favor and give it a listen. This is a real rock and roll album that could have easily been released in the 1970’s. There are rockers. There is creepiness. The music has layers and tasty changes. Some take you on musical excursions. Maybe they will do some spot shows, who knows.

At the very least they could do one big show with worldwide viewing, then make a DVD, one can only hope. No matter what I’m glad this album was made. I am smiling!
