Queens Of The Stone Age has announced it has canceled several European shows as the band said frontman Josh Homme will undergo emergency surgery.

Homme had been diagnosed with cancer two years ago but it is not known if this most recent emergency is related to the cancer.

Queens Of The Stone Age posted on social media: “QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery. Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no longer an option to continue.”

The canceled dates are from: July 10 in Vitrolles, France through July 27 in Athens, Greece for the Athens Rocks.
