Red Baraat gets the audience jumping with their Festival of Color show in an energetic music and dance performance to celebrate the Hindu holiday of Holi.

The Northern India-influenced jazz band led by Sunny Jain, has developed a unique approach to its music, creating a new funky sound that celebrates the colorful Holi-day.

Red Baraat performs at The Mint on Wednesday, March 11. Angelo Moore and The Dr Madd Vibes opens.

The Red Baraat show engages fans of all nationalities and musically mimics Holi, the South Asian holiday during which people throw colored powder at each other in celebration of their blessings. There may not be any actual powder throwing, but it’s a colorful show nonetheless.

Red Baraat, the Brooklyn, New York-based band of musicians, keeps the music new and makes the spiritual season around the Hindu holiday Holi a truly upbeat event.

Band leader Jain thought of the idea to blend North Indian bhangra with jazz and horns and the results have been overwhelmingly positive.

Red Baraat has a devoted fan base and its June 2018 release Sound The People scored a top 10 spot on the World Music Charts Europe. Red Baraat brings its message of inclusivity around the world, and the band has fans everywhere they’ve played including  Abu Dabhi, Kazakhstan, Canada and Europe.
