A Tribute to Sublime Serves ‘Burritos’ at Belly Up Tavern for Bradley Nowell Foundation

Burritos headlined a night of reggae vibes and good times Friday night at Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, San Diego.

The evening was titled “A Tribute to Sublime,” but the cause for this show goes beyond the music. A special booth present in the venue belonged to Nowell Family Foundation, a nonprofit inspired by late Sublime frontman Bradley Nowell, who died in 1996 from an overdose.

The foundation provides addiction recovery services to the music community from a loving group that have felt the affects of opiate addiction first hand: The Nowell family.

The foundation is currently raising money for “Bradley’s House,” a nonprofit treatment center where people in the music industry with opiate addition can get help regardless of their financial situation.

Burritos, named after the Sublime 1996 song, “Burritos,” supports the Nowell Family Foundation with a portion of all of tickets and special Burritos collaboration merchandise going to the recovery center.

The evening was filled with widespread talk of Sublime memories, love and hope.

The evening began with immense energy as Sensi Trails took the stage. A laid back reggae sound was challenged by their driving talent and dynamic stage presence.

They were followed by the energetic brass in Fluid Foundation giving the audience a progressive reggae rock vibe they could not resist. As Burritos took the stage, celebration was in full swing.

As the night went on, a community of many generations, musical interests, and walks of life were meshed together in one crowd, for the sake of Bradley.
