Bruce Springsteen, Hot Chip and Wand Make California Rocker’s Hot Tunes April PlayList

By DONNA BALANCIA

April showered us with great music including new releases from Bruce Springsteen, Hot Chip  and Wand, who made the latest California Rocker Hot Tunes playlist.

April’s selections have a few common threads: The songs reminisce about the good times of the past, or talk of concern about the future.

Springsteen’s new single “Hello Sunshine” off his Western Stars album due in June is a throwback to the days of California pop in the vein of Jimmy Webb.

Meanwhile, across the pond, UK favorite Hot Chip rebound with the  release of their dance tune “Hungry Child.”

Los Angeles band Wand puts forth a diverse-sounding album with recently released Laughing Matter and the hot single “Wonder” brings on the fuzz.

Other selections include music from Tame Impala, who performed two of their latest songs on “Saturday Night Live,” King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard, The Allah-Las, Wallows and Ra Ra Riot.

And check out an interesting new combo: Tom Morello with Gary Clark and Slovenian electronic music producer Gramatik who team on the funky modern “Can’t Stop The Bleeding.”
