A 1972 silver Ferrari Dino once owned by Keith Richards has sold for a staggering $577,000 at auction.

The 246 GT Coupe is among many fancy cars the Rolling Stones guitarist has owned. The 74-year-old Richards is known for his love of sports cars and has owned many in his life.

The car fetched $577,000 (£442,750) at Bonhams at the Goodwood Revival, close to West Wittering, near Richards’ country house estate.

The Italian-made sportscar is said to have 30,000 miles and is in good condition. Richards put on 25,000 miles during the Rolling Stones’ European tours. Richards often would drive instead of fly when possible.

Silver with Black Leather Interior w Cromodora

The car is silver with a black leather interior, and has Cromodora alloy wheels. Richards originally sold the car to a Japanese private collector in 1986. In 2014, it was bought by Liam Howlett of The Prodigy.

In 2015, the car’s 2.4-litre engine was rebuilt before being bought by another owner.

It was sold at Goodwood with a letter of authenticity from Rolling Stones tour manager Alan Dunn.
