No Longer The Little ‘Brokechella,’ BROKE LA Fest Grows into its New Name

What’s In A Name?  Quite a Bit at BROKE LA

BROKE LA is an all out, multi-stage, 9-hour music marathon featuring over 50 artists in the heart of downtown LA. With so much to choose from, where do we begin?

King Shelter
King Shelter

INSIDE – Kick off the evening with King Shelter, an old fashioned Socal four piece rock group. Set to come on around 6:00pm on the indoor stage, start the evening right with their grooving blend of salad rock and high energy.

OUTSIDE – Welcome the dark with Dwntwn, a mellow synth group with a smooth blend of dream pop and folk twang. Dwntwn is set to come on at 7:30pm and will play into the first streaks of darkness, a nice warm up for a heady night of tunes ahead.

For a healthy dose of sass and attitude, don’t miss hip-hop duo Cam & China, set to take the stage at 8:05pm for a 20 minutes of free flowing, ice spitting rap beats. The twin performers are also local natives, hailing from Inglewood to grace us with their fierce talents.

OUTSIDE – Later in the evening at 9:00, be sure to swing by the outdoor stage to see Tennis System, a crew of LA locals with a driving, haunting shoegaze sound. Taking their queues from the likes of Nirvana and Ride, Tennis System is the perfect pop-psychedelic chaser to a hard night.

INSIDE – For a mellow beat and chill mood, check out Tolliver, set to close out the night on the indoor stage at 10:30pm. Tolliver’s smooth and silky sound blends the soulful slow croon of his midwest upbringing with a popping and electric beat. A great way to relax and come down after a long day of music.

Want to share the experience with your furry friend? BROKE LA will also feature BARK LA, a dog-friendly animal-themed play area filled with special treats. All dogs must be registered here and will only be allowed to attend between 3pm and 7pm.
