The Rolling Stones have released a new song “Living in a Ghost Town,” the first original track the legendary band has released since 2012. And there are more songs to come, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards said in an interview.

The Rolling Stones’ last original songs released were “Doom and Gloom” and “One More Shot” off the 2012 record GRRR!

The idea of a “ghost town” is an eery coincidence to the state of the streets during today’s stay-at-home orders, considering the duo told Apple Music the new track was written a year ago,

The new song may help soothe the fans who bought tickets to the No Filter Tour, many dates of which were only recently  rescheduled again. The first round of postponements on certain dates of the U.S. leg of the No Filter Tour occurred because of Mick Jagger’s heart operation.

But the good news is there are more songs to come, Richards told Zane Lowe of Apple Music.

“We’ve got nothing else to do by write some more songs, right?” Richards said in the interview. “We’ve got another five or six tracks and there’s a lot of sort of soul feel about for some reason without anybody intending to.”

While it’s the first original track from the band in a while, the band did put out the blues cover collection Blues and Lonesome in 2016.

“It wasn’t written for now, but it was just one of those odd things,” Jagger told Lowe about “Ghost Town.” “It was written about being in a place which was full of life but is now bereft of life so to speak.

“I slightly rewrote it,” Jagger said. “I didn’t have to rewrite very much, to be honest. It’s very much how I originally did it.”

Richards said “Living in a Ghost Town” was recorded last year in Los Angeles.
