Jerry Cantrell Signs as Gibson Brand Ambassador

Jerry Cantrell, the main songwriter, lead guitarist and vocalist for Alice in Chains, will join Gibson as a brand ambassador, it was announced during the NAMM Show Friday.

Cantrell will be doing a signing in the Gibson experience space on the third floor of the Anaheim Convention Center, Ballroom A, at the NAMM Show on Saturday at 4 p.m.

“I’m very happy to announce that I am officially joining the Gibson family,” Cantrell said. “I’m hugely looking forward to what we can create together in the future.”

In addition to founding one of the most popular rock bands of the era, Cantrell has had impressive projects including two solo albums and several film soundtracks.

Jerry’s first solo album, Boggy Depot, was released in 1998 and contained three popular singles including the popular “Cut You In” and “My Song.”

Cantrell issued his second album in 2002, Degradation Trip, with Ozzy Osbourne’s band members Mike Bordin on drums and Robert Trujillo on bass. “Anger Rising” and “Angel Eyes” were singles on the album and the track “She Was My Girl” was a part of the “Spider-Man” soundtrack.

In addition to his solo albums, Cantrell released music on the soundtracks for “The Cable Guy,” “John Wick 2” and “The Punisher.”

“It’s a privilege to have such an icon become one of our ambassadors,” said Cesar Gueikian, chief merchant officer for Gibson. “He continues to shape sound in a way that is unique to his artistry. Together we will be a on quest to make music matter more than ever.”
