Jehnny Beth has released the new video for “I’m The Man,” a track featured on the new soundtrack for the UK TV show “Peaky Blinders.” The video is introduced via spoken word by Cillian Murphy who plays Tommy Shelby on the popular gangster show.

The video portrays Beth in an aggressive tirade down a dark alley taking on the characters that comprise the neighbourhood and finally facing the truth. The video is helmed by “Peaky Blinders” episodic director Anthony Byrne.

The “Peaky Blinders soundtrack was released Nov. 8. The song “I’m The Man” debuted in Season 5 of the period tough guy show set in Birmingham, England, after World War I.  Additional tracks on the record are from some of the hardest hitting “alternative” musicians today, including Nick Cave, Foals, Jack White, PJ Harvey, Foals and Radiohead. Beth’s band Savages also has a track on the album, “Adore.”

Beth announced she’ll be going it sans Savages for a bit with two live performances at the 2020 All Points East Festival in the UK and The Heartland Festival in Denmark.

Beth is the lead singer and co-writer of Savages, which received several Mercury Prize nominations for Silence Yourself released in 2013 and Adore Life released in 2016. Though Savages has been on a break since 2017, Beth has been collaborating with various musicians including Julia Casablancas, The XX, Gorillaz and PJ Harvey.
