Cage The Elephant has released a living history lesson on Pompeii with its latest video “Ready To Let Go.”
It’s the first track off their album Social Cues which hits the street April 13 on RCA Records.
Directed by the band’s Matt Shultz, the video depicts a dreamlike scenario and modern-day recalling of the devastation of Mt. Vesuvius in Rome in 79 A.D.
Complete with ashen-tainted dancers garbed in nearly nothing, “Ready To Let Go” compares the apocalytic eruption to a finished love affair. In fact, Schultz says basically the whole Social Cues album centers on the collapse of his relationship.
