Jim Peterik & World Stage share the new single, “Between Two Fires (feat. Kevin Cronin),” taken from the upcoming album, “River of Music: The Power of Duets, Vol. 1.”

The album is set for a Dec. 12 release via Frontiers Music Srl. The new track arrives alongside a visualizer, available to view below.

With “River of Music: The Power of Duets, Vol. 1,” Jim Peterik — the award-winning songwriter and founding member of The Ides of March and Pride of Lions and formerly of Survivor — puts forth one of his most personal and inspired projects.

This new chapter in the World Stage legacy is a heartfelt tribute to the spirit of collaboration, where each song becomes a shared story told through harmony, emotion, and musical chemistry.

Peterik and he and Cronin of REO Speedwagon continue their friendship and collaboration, which has been going strong since back in the day.

“’Between Two Fires’ is one of my favorite song collaborations and vocal duets of all time,” Peterik said. “Our voices and writing styles have always seemed to blend. In all the many years I have known Kevin, touring with and writing with him, our mutual respect has always shined through.”

Produced by Ron Nevison, who has worked with Heart, Foreigner, and many others, “River of Music: The Power of Duets, Vol. 1” has the innate legacy of classic rock records, Peterik said.

Other duets on the album include the title track, “River of Music,” on which Peterik shares the microphone with his son Colin Peterik, “Double Rainbow” with Jefferson Starship’s Cathy Richardson, “Waiting for You” performed by Dave Mikulskis and Bree Gordon, and “Slow Lighning,” and “Everything You Need,” which reunites Jim and Colin Peterik.

Elsewhere, Jim Peterik trades verses with Cronin on “Between Two Fires,” and finds common ground with Jason Scheff (formerly of Chicago) in the contemplative “The Cadence of Things.” Vocalist Toby Hitchcock (Pride of Lions) sings on “Soul of My Being,” a duet with Bree Gordon, and a powerful reinterpretation of the Survivor classic “In Good Faith,” sung alongside rising star Kaity Heart. Jim Peterik and Heart also deliver “I’m a Survivor,” an original anthem.

Additional musicians on the record include drummers Denny Fongheiser and Ed Breckenfeld, bassists Tony Franklin and Bob Lizik, guitarists Phil X and Mike Aquino, and keyboardists Kim Bullard and Jim Peterik.
