Movie Club the band shows its support for the independent venues with its latest video for the track “Driftwood,” in which the duo performs at a cool selection of clubs.

The Mint, The Greek, The Troubadour and others are depicted in the surf music outfit’s latest film creation. The band’s mission is to call attention to the need for people to support independent music venues, which are struggling for survival as a result of COVID shutdowns.

The song “Driftwood” is reminiscent of the best days of ambient surf sound accented by strong rock overtones. Movie Club is Jessamyn Violet on drums and Vince Cuneo on guitar and the Venice-based duo continually incorporate familiar themes into their modern-day take on the classic surf genre.

The video even features a Movie Club fan and occasional actor playing himself: The LA Rocker, Howard Mordoh.

It’s vital that the indie music venues survive, and thereby so will the independent musicians, the band says.
