Shinedown Strikes Up Emotion with Stripped Down Version of Hit Single ‘Get Up’

Shinedown has released a new piano version of their single “Get Up,” a stripped-down version of the charted hit.

The new version puts front and center lead singer Brent Smith’s recognizable voice emoting the urgent and universal message of hope, empathy and encouragement.

The song by the Jacksonville, Fla. outfit caught on the world resonating with those facing hardships and those whose loved ones are struggling.

“Get Up” was inspired by the struggles with clinical depression experienced by bassist Eric Bass. 

The Shinedown guys have won multitudes of fans, including Kelly and Ryan, who brought them on the show “Live With Kelly and Ryan.”

“Get Up” is used a lot in the sports world, and hit the NFL airwaves as it was played at the Walter Payton Award segment of the Super Bowl Pregame show, among other TV spots.
