Michael Des Barres is revving his rock ‘n’ roll engine with a new band called Michael Des Barres and The Mistakes. The band is getting around town and will introduce new music for a couple of live performances during November in downtown Los Angeles.

Des Barres is the host of Little Steven’s Underground Garage, where he has a big following. And of course, he is known to pop culture for his starring role on the U.S. network show, MacGyver. But Des Barres has lengthy music credits.

Our sources say Des Barres and pals will be playing at The Redwood on Nov. 30.

Des Barres was also a touring singer for Duran Duran-based group, The Power Station and was a member of Chequered Past, which included Clem Burke and Nigel Harrison of Blondie and Steve Jones from the Sex Pistols.

But Besides his long list of TV and movie credits, and good cover songs, Des Barres is a pretty good songwriter as well.

Check out “Obsession,” a huge international hit he wrote for the band Animotion.
