Surf Curse, the LA favorites whose twangy pop sound whips the crowds into a frenzy of stage-diving crowd surfers, has released “Disco,” the first single off their new album Heaven Surrounds You, out on Sept. 13.
The video for “Disco” was directed by Nick Rattigan and shot by Stumble on Tapes. Steadicam Operator was Abby Linne, with choreography by Liza Barskaya, Hair + Make Up by Lucy Blue Knight, and music + lyrics by Surf Curse.
Heaven Surrounds You is produced by Jarvis Taveniere (Sunflower Bean, Woods) and is out on Danger Collective Records.
Surf Curse is comprised of Nick Rattigan and Jacob Rubeck. They’re joined by a few select players when live.
Surf Curse to Release ‘Heaven Surrounds You’ Sept. 13
Heaven Surrounds You is a coming-of-age tale, inspired by the cult films the band cherished throughout their years spent Reno, Las Vegas, and LA, the guys say.
The album is a surfy indie-pop classic featuring guitars and resonant harmonies. It’s a leap forward for the band, which developed a devoted wake of fans who follow the band from The Smell to the Teragram Ballroom and beyond. Surf Curse has become one of the most popular favorites the world over and has amassed more than 30 million streams.
