Bruce Campbell Says He’s Hosting ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’ on Travel Channel

Bruce Campbell announced on Countdown Entertainment’s Times Square Network Monday night he would host a modern version of Ripley’s Believe it Or Not on TV for The Travel Channel.

Campbell is known for his Evil Dead movies and Ash Vs. Evil Dead on TV. The iconic star will take on the hosting duties for the legendary franchise known for recording weird and bizarre events.  The Ripley brand started as a newspaper column and has been adapted over the years to tell stories on digital media platforms.

“As an actor I’ve always been draw towards stuff that’s a little more out there, a little more fantastical,” he told Countdown host Allison Hagendorf. “As a kid I read the Ripley books … I’m here to announce officially we’re bringing back Ripley as a television show. I’m hosting for Travel Channel.”

Ripley’s celebrates a centennial anniversary this year.

The Ripley brand collection is believed to include more than 30,000 artifacts, 20,000 photographs and more than 100,000 cartoon panels. “Do You Believe It?” is the slogan for Ripley’s Believe It or Not, TV show, which the ads say is “coming soon” to the Travel Channel. 

“When you think about it, The Travel Chanel makes  a lot of sense, because weird stuff happens all over the world,” Campbell said.  “From California to Cambodia there are amazing stories yet to be told.”
