Deborah Dugan, the first woman CEO of the Recording Academy has been placed on administrative leave, allegedly for her management style. However the leave comes only three weeks after Dugan sent off a memo about financial and voting irregularities in the organization, her lawyer said.

Dugan came in to replace Neil Portnow who was dismissed last year for his sexist remarks. Dugan was brought on board to lead the Academy last August.
Dugan is not going down without a fight, issuing a statement in her defense.
“What’s been reported is not nearly the story that needs to be told,” Dugan said through an attorney.
The GRAMMY Awards will be held on Jan. 26. The Recording Academy’s board chair, Harvey Mason Jr., will serve as interim chief executive.
Dugan has been an outspoken AIDS advocate and was the CEO of RED, founded by Bono.
