‘Rock of Ages’ Musical Returns to Hollywood in Newly Built Venue ‘The Bourbon Room’

“Rock of Ages,” the 5-time Tony Award-nominated rock theater and dinner show returns to Hollywood at a newly built venue created just for the show, called The Bourbon Room.

“Rock of Ages” ran six years on Broadway with more than 2,350 performances, five Tony nominations, 20 productions worldwide and 30 hit songs from the 1980s. The production is considered the “Best-reviewed hair band musical of all time.”

Nick Cordero, Tony nominee, plays the role of “Dennis,” Rock of Ages Broadway alum Frankie Grande plays “Franz Klineman,” with Regina LeVert as “Justice Charlier,” Sean Lessard as “Stacee Jaxx,” Tiffany Mallari, Chuck Saculla, Marisa Matthews, Callandra Olivia as “Sherrie,” Stefan Raulston, Justin Ray as “Joey Primo,” Pat Towne as “Hertz Klineman,” Zoe Unkovich, Stephanie Renee Wall as “Regina,” Ian Ward as “Drew,” Matt Wolpe as “Lonny,” and Neka Zang as “Constance.”

“Rock of Ages” had its world premiere and a six-week run from January 2006 at The Vanguard Hollywood nightclub in Los Angeles, and then moved to The Flamingo in Las Vegas in May 2006. The show then went on to New York in October 2008 at New World Stages off-Broadway and played 110 performances before moving to Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre on April 7, 2009 and then the Helen Hayes Theatre in 2011. At the Helen Hayes Theatre, on March 24, 2011, the show ran four years and grossed $129 million. It broke the theater’s box office record 10 times and remains tied for the 30th- longest running show on Broadway.

“Rock of Ages” has run on cruise ships, at the Venetian Resort on the Las Vegas Strip, and has been on national tour through both the U.S. and the U.K. In June 2012, Rock of Ages was released as a feature film starringTom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The food and drinks at The Bourbon Room were curated by the team behind Augustine Wine Bar and Sushi Note. Before the show, guests can enjoy a beer, cocktail and bar food in the Bourbon Room and a team of actors bring the Sunset Strip of the 1980s to life. Guests can enjoy the pre-show, talk with the characters or even be sent on different quests and challenges. In the show room, audience members are closer to the action than ever before with actors performing all through the room.

The creative team is comprised of Chris D’Arienzo, author of the book, Kristin Hanggi, director, Kelly Devine (Choreographer), David Gibbs (Music Supervisor), and Jon Quesenberry (Music Director). Producers are Matt Weaver, Hillary Weaver, Janet Billig Rich, Kimberly Helms, Scott Prisand (Executive Producer), Kerry Brown (Executive Producer), and Bill Bodnar (Executive Producer). David Gibbs heads Food and Beverage Operations, along with Andy Paxson (Food and Beverage Operations), Kelsey Salamon (Executive Chef), and Melody Patron (General Manager)
