Laura Peters, who left an indelible imprint on the indie music scene in Los Angeles, has passed away at age 32. No cause of death has been disclosed.
Peters was the founder of the band Psychic Love and was a promoter of the Play Like a Girl project that enabled emerging bands to be seen and heard. Peters was also a talented graphic designer.
Originally from Colorado, Peters was a musician who was involved in the local LA music community. Of her many friends and acquaintances on social media, most were shocked to hear of her sudden passing.
In Interview with Noisey Peters Talks Pets, Music
Peters was interviewed by Noisey in 2016 at the time she released her debut album, The Hive Mind. In the interview she talked about performing for pets, her new music, and depression.
Buzzbands.la reported Wednesday that Peters’ body was found by a roommate at her home in Echo Park. The report indicated Peters had been complaining of migraines.
