When King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard fan Adrian Vega Albela Osorio had a chance to make a music video for his USC Film School class he picked the single “Loyalty” by his favorite band.
But little did the student director know that the Gizz band would actually endorse, post, and share the video to all the fans.

‘Loyalty’ The Video
The film takes the viewer to a different but colorful world where some mystical happenings occur.
“‘Loyalty’ is an interesting song about a fictional leader of a cult with an obsession with authority and autonomy over his followers,” Osorio said. “A god complex, a power struggle which as we can see in many politics throughout the globe and especially here, is incredibly relevant.”
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard go on a huge tour starting this February.
Interview with Director Osorio
“I think they’re one of the most innovative and exciting bands out right now,” Osorio said. “King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard with four almost five albums out in one year and all of them are quality releases. They’re complex, musically.”
“When they put this out free of copyright, I want to do music videos, and this was an easy way to get something that has a fan base and has an audience. I got to collaborate with them without ever meeting them.”
It was a one-day shoot at USC Film School.
“It counted as my final for my major,” Osorio said. “I never thought it would get picked up by the band and get reposted.”
Shot on Sony
The music video was shot it on Sony cameras and Osorio rented some lighting.
“It was all really grass roots friends coming together,” Osorio said. “It cost about $600 bucks all together. It was a lot of favors. We had a cast of 14 people and a crew of 12. I edited it in a week.
“So far the fans like it,” Osorio said. “I posted it on the fans page. I was most nervous to get their seal of approval and so far it’s been overwhelmingly good.”
