Billie Eilish has an urgent message to convey with “All The Good Girls Go To Hell” off her latest album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?
The remarkable billion-streaming musician who has performed shows at The Hi Hat in Highland Park not long ago, warns that, like the awful destruction in the video, our planet faces the same fate.
In the video, she is stabbed with hypodermic needles, angelic wings sprout out of her back, but instead of ascending, she plummets to Earth where she lands in a pit of oily black tar. Her fawn-like but solid black eyes reflect the frightening vulnerability felt by nature because of mankind’s carelessness and greed.
The video was directed by Rich Lee for Drive Studios production company and coincides with the Climate Action Summit at the United Nations.
A message about taking action on behalf of saving the environment is at the bottom of the video.
“A note from Billie: right now there are millions of people all over the world begging our leaders to pay attention. our earth is warming up at an unprecedented rate, icecaps are melting, our oceans are rising, our wildlife is being poisoned and our forests are burning. on september 23rd, the UN will host the 2019 Climate Action Summit to discuss how to tackle these issues. the clock is ticking. on friday september 20th and friday september 27th you can make your voice be heard. take it to the streets.” #climatestrike https://globalclimatestrike.net
